A Survey of Addiction to Online Games among Primary Students in Northwestern Rural Areas of Guangxi

目的：为了了解目前桂西北农村地区小学生网络游戏成瘾的现状，以便为小学心理健康教育工作提供一定的参考。方法：本研究采用《网络游戏成瘾问卷》，对桂西北地区3至6年级共351名小学生进行了调查。结果：1) 桂西北农村地区小学生网络游戏成瘾倾向较低，整体状况良好。2) 男生比女生更容易对网络游戏成瘾。3) 小学生网络游戏成瘾在年级之间差异显著，四年级小学生网络游戏成瘾倾向最高。4) 小学生学业表现越差，对网络游戏成瘾的倾向越高。5) 留守儿童比非留守儿童更容易对网络游戏成瘾。结论：目前桂西北农村地区小学生网络游戏成瘾程度并不高，性别、年级、学业成绩、是否留守对网络游戏成瘾有影响。
Objectives: This paper aimed to learn about the status quo of addiction to online games among primary students in northwestern rural areas of Guangxi, and thus provide certain references for mental health education in primary schools. Methods: A survey was conducted on 351 primary school students from Grade 3 to 6 in the northwest of Guangxi, with the Questionnaire on Addiction to Online Games. Results: 1) Primary students in the northwest of Guangxi are less inclined to be addictive to online games, with good physical condition on the whole. 2) Male students are easier to become addictive to online games than female students. 3) Addiction to online games among primary students shows obvious differences in grades, and those in grade 4 are more inclined to become addictive to games. 4) The poorer academic performances primary students achieve, the more inclined they are to become addictive to online games. 5) Left-behind children are more easily addictive to online games than other children. Conclusions: In northwestern rural areas of Guangxi, there is not a high level of addiction to online games among primary students, which is affected by gender, grades, academic performances and whether they are left-behind.
