Abstract:

无聊情绪是一种消极的心理和情感体验,在外语学习过程中普遍存在,但长期以来被研究人员及外语教师忽略。近年来,随着应用语言学的“情感转向”,越来越多二语习得领域的专家对这种“厌恶”情绪展开了调查。为了解此领域的研究动态,本文对近十年国内外相关的实证研究进行了梳理。分析发现,此领域主要涉及六大主题:外语学习无聊情绪的诱发因素、内在结构、动态变化及个体差异,无聊感与其他情感、外语成绩的关系以及应对无聊感的策略。最后,文章指出了该研究领域的不足之处及未来的研究方向。
Boredom is one negative psychological and affective experience, which is an emotion ubiquitous in foreign language learning. However, such an emotion has long been neglected by researchers and foreign language teachers. In recent years, with the “affective turn” transpiring in applied linguistics, this “aversive” emotion has begun to be investigated by experts in second language acquisition. To have a clear picture of the state of the art in this field, relevant empirical studies in the past decade are reviewed. Analyses show that six themes have been addressed in this field, including the triggers of boredom, its internal structures, connections with other emotions, dynamicity and individual differences, relationship with foreign language achievements, and its corresponding countermeasures. Finally, the limitations of these studies and the directions for future research are also discussed.
