The Construction of Kovel’s Ecological Socialism Thought and Its Contemporary Value

1970年以来，随着资本主义社会经济科技的迅猛发展，越来越多的人开始意识到，资本主义正在推动着生态环境的恶化，而我们却无法控制住它。考虑到这一问题将会成为未来社会的一重大议题，西方马克思主义流派中的生态学马克思主义者对此先后进行了生态学的思考和分析。乔尔·科威尔作为美国生态学马克思主义的代表人物，他一直积极参与绿色政治活动，曾经是美国绿党(GPUS)的领导人物。面对全球生态危机产生的原因，对未来理想社会的构想，以及如何实现生态社会主义等问题时，他提出了一系列较为合理的见解和主张。不仅丰富和发展了生态社会主义相关理论和思想，还促进了生态学马克思主义到生态社会主义的过渡。
