基于BNC语料库的近义词用法对比研究——以“reject”和“decline”为例

Abstract:
近义词词义辨析一直是英语教学中的重难点之一，本研究以近义词“reject”和“decline”为例，通过检索它们在英国当代语料库BNC中的使用情况，从词义、搭配、类联接、语义韵等层面分析探讨它们的差异和实际使用，并以此说明语料库检索工具在近义词辨析中的重要辅助作用，同时对英语词汇教学和英语习得提出建议。
The discrimination of the meaning of synonyms has always been an important and difficult part in English teaching. This study takes the synonyms “reject\" and \"decline” as examples, and analyzes their differences and practical use from the aspects of meaning, collocation, colligation and semantic prosody by retrieving their use in the contemporary English Corpus BNC, and explains the important auxiliary role of corpus retrieval tools in the analysis of synonyms. Finally, this paper gives some suggestions on English vocabulary teaching and English acquisition.
