功能对等视角下宁波高校公示语翻译问题与对策研究
Research on the English Translation of Public Signs in Ningbo Universities from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence Theory

本文从奈达的功能对等视角出发，从词汇和句法两个层面入手，对宁波高校的公示语英文翻译进行调查和研究。在对该市部分高校的英文公示语中存在的问题进行分析与研究时，笔者主要采取增译、减译、改译和意译等不同翻译策略，为这些高校的公示语翻译问题提出解决对策以及建议译文，以期提高宁波高校的公示语英译质量，在一定程度上有助于提高高校国际化形象，帮助外国留学生更好地理解及更快地适应在宁波高校的校园生活，同时也期望能为其它高校提供一定的参考。
Based on Nida’s functional equivalence theory, this paper investigates and studies the English translation of public signs in Ningbo universities from lexical level and syntactic level. While ana-lyzing and studying the problems existing in the English translation of public signs of some colleges and universities in this city, the author mainly adopts such translation strategies as addition, subtraction, modification and free translation. With the expectation to boost globalization and also to improve the English translation quality of public signs of colleges and universities in Ningbo, the author also hopes to help the foreign students better understand and adapt to the campus life. At the same time, it is also expected to provide some reference for other colleges and universities in other places.
