Abstract:

“中国关键词”项目是以多语种、多媒体方式向国际社会解读、阐释当代中国发展理念、发展道路、内外政策、思想文化核心话语的窗口和平台,是中国文化对外宣传的重要项目成果。翻译是模因跨越文化界限进行传播的生存载体,“中国关键词”的外译目的在于使“中国关键词”中的中国文化模因更好地在国外复制和传播。做好“中国关键词”的外译,有助于推广中国的优秀文化,让外国读者更加全面、准确地了解中国,提升中国的国际形象。本文从Chesterman的翻译模因论出发,从语法、语义、语用三个维度对“中国关键词”项目英译策略进行分析,以期对中国文化传播的外译工作提供启示。
The “China Keywords” program is a multi-language, multimedia platform for analyzing and ex-plaining essential expressions used to describe the developmental theories and pathways, exter-nal and internal policies as well as the cultures and philosophies of contemporary China. It is an important project achievement of Chinese culture’s external publicity. Translation is the survival carrier for memes to spread across cultural boundaries. The purpose of the foreign translation of “China keywords” is to make the Chinese cultural memes in “China keywords” better replicate and spread abroad. Doing a good job in the foreign translation of “China keywords” will help promote China’s excellent culture, allow foreign readers to understand China more comprehensively and accurately, and enhance China’s international image. From the perspective of Chesterman’s translation memetics, this thesis analyzes the English translation strategies of the “China keywords” project from three dimensions: Syntactics, semantics and pragmatics, in order to provide inspiration for the foreign translation of Chinese cultural communication.
