|
Abstract:
With the continuous development of higher education, education equity and other issues are increasingly prominent, as an important symbol of higher education research, the first-generation of college students gradually comes into people’s vision. On the basis of combing and analyzing relevant literatures at home and abroad, this article makes an indepth summary and analysis of the definition, connotation, characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of first-generation college students. It’s found that the existing researches mostly focus on the capital accumulated by the first-generation college students and the advantages and disadvantages of them. However, there are still controversies over whether the first-generation college students have “disadvantages” or “advantages”, so their future development path is still uncertain. The research of this article provides guidance for understanding the development process and the following direction of China’s first-generation college students, which is of great significance to promote the realization of equity in higher education.
