|
Abstract:
Objective: To explore the relationship between grit and the academic self-efficacy of military college students, and examine the mediating role of career calling. It aims to find better intervention measures that will help promote the academic achievement level of military college students. Methods: A questionnaire survey was used to intestate 300 military college students. The measurement tools included Grit Scale, Calling Scale, and Academic Self-efficacy Scale. Results: 1) Grit is significantly positively correlated with academic self-efficacy (r = 0.65, P < 0.01) and career calling (r = 0.32, P < 0.01); 2) The sense of career calling plays a partially mediating role between grit and academic self-efficacy. The mediating effect ratio is 7.28%, and the 95% confidence interval is (0.01, 0.10). Conclusion: The grit of military college students can directly affect their academic self-efficacy, and can also indirectly affect their academic self-efficacy through their sense of career calling. Increasing the level of grit can help improve academic self-efficacy, and it can also be achieved by enhancing the sense of career calling.
