|
Abstract:
Based on the self-determination theory, the relationship among autonomous orientation, death acceptance and death anxiety was studied. 291 college students were recruited and measured by General Causality Orientation Scale (GCOS) and Death Attitude Profile-Revised (DAP-R) questionnaire. The mediating effect of death acceptance was conducted using PROCESS. The results showed that after controlling demographic variables, autonomous orientation could negatively predict death anxiety, which was partially mediated by death acceptance. The study enriches TMT and SDT, and it also provides evidence for individuals to better cope with death anxiety.
