《权力的游戏》中叙事聚焦与悬疑的产生

Abstract:
《权力的游戏》是当代著名奇幻小说《冰与火之歌》系列的第一部，该作品具有很强的悬疑性，其根本原因在于作者对于叙事聚焦的操控。本文结合热拉尔？热奈特与米克？巴尔的叙事聚焦理论，指出了《权力的游戏》中的四种聚焦操控手法：选取、切换、并置与过滤，并结合实例，依次分析了每种手法如何实现悬疑效果。
As the first published volume of the world-known fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire, A Game of Thrones boasts a narrative of strong suspense, which resides ultimately in Martin’s skillful manipulation of focalization. Based on the focalization theories of Gerald Genette and Mieke Bal, this paper points out four types of focal manipulation in the novel: selecting, switching, juxtaposing and filtering. Then through examples, it demonstrates respectively how they help achieve suspense.
