Abstract:

Mind wandering is common in the individual’s conscious experience, and it mainly refers to the process of diverting attention from the current task to internal thinking. The current research methods are mainly based on oral reports, supplemented by questionnaires. Some objective indicators and cognitive neuroscience methods are also being explored. In recent years, domestic and foreign researchers have conducted a lot of research on mind wandering and made great progress. This article mainly reviews the existing literature on mind wandering from the aspects of behavior and cognitive neuroscience, and puts forward questions that need to be studied in the future, hoping to provide references for studies related to mind wandering.
