文化翻译表现论视阈下中国特色比喻词的汉英口译策略
Chinese-English Interpreting Strategies of Figurative Words with Chinese Characteristics from the Perspective of Culture Expression Theory

在汉英口译实践中，由于中英语言与文化的巨大差异，外国听众很难理解中国特色比喻词所承载的独特文化意象，这导致口译员面临文化不可译性的难题。基于此，本文使用文化翻译表现论对近年国家新闻发布会发言稿中的中国特色比喻词及其译文进行比较与分析，发现其文化不可译性难题可通过直译加意译、通感直译、提炼文化意象、替换文化意象和去除文化意象五种口译策略得以解决。
In Chinese-English interpreting, due to the huge differences between Chinese and English languages and cultures, the interpreters tend to encounter untranslatability since the foreign audience finds it hard to understand the cultural implications of the figurative words with Chinese characteristics. Hence, based on Culture Expression Theory, this paper analyzes the figurative words with Chinese characteristics and their interpretation in speeches at national press conferences in recent years. Then the paper concludes that the following five interpreting strategies can solve the problem of cultural untranslatability: literal translation plus free translation, synesthesia plus literal translation, extracting cultural images, replacing cultural images, and removing cultural images.
