国家叙事视域下翻译的叙事张力重置研究

Abstract:

本文基于国家叙事的视角，以Mona Baker的叙事学理论为指导思想，探讨在智库报告类政治外宣材料的英译中如何运用“叙事张力重置”这一翻译策略达到再叙事的目的。研究发现，叙事张力重置可以从语义和句式结构两个层面予以实施，通过修辞转换、句式变异和成分变异等技巧，实现凸显叙事目的、消弭文化冲突、优化外宣效果的功能，从而对建构国家形象起到积极的促进作用。
Guided by Mona Baker’s narratology theory, this paper discusses how to use the translation strategy of “narrative tension reconstruction” to realize “re-narration” in the translation of political publicity documents, including think-tank reports. It is revealed that the reconstruction of narrative tension can be achieved with syntactic and semantic devices. Techniques such as rhetoric transformation, sentence variation and component deviation can be employed to fulfill the narrative purposes in translation, including mitigating cultural conflicts, enhancing language intensity and optimizing narrative effect.
