Endeksi Abstract: The aim of the study is to explain the role of the stereotype concept which has been discussed for a long time in the field of social psychology. For this purpose, after the definition of the stereotype concept, a general evaluation is made about the historical development process of the concept, its theoretical development, its theoretical sub-structure, the methods of measuring the concept and its place in the management literature. As stereotypes are tools that allow for the perception of the complex world and have a fundamental duty in human relations; it can be argued that this issue should also be discussed in the field of management field. As a result of the study, attention should be paid to the concept of stereotypes and awareness is expected to be raised in the management literature for new discussions. For business executives, it would allow employees to understand cognitive structures and see how these cognitive structures are reflected in behaviours and therefore in business relationships
