Assessment on the Use of CORINE Data in TurkeyKeywords: CORINE,co?rafya, arazi, kullan?m Abstract: CORINE (Coordination of Information on the Environment) is a land cover identification and classification project initiated by the European Union in 1985, which has been updated in 10 years and then every 6 years. With this project, the European Union member countries and Turkey obtain information about land cover by using satellite imagery and other helpful data sources. It is known that governments use the data for purposes such as quick decision-making, environmentally sensitive and sustainable land planning and potential identification. In this work, the use of CORINE data in scientific publications has been discussed. Theses and articles determined by the document review method were examined and evaluated from various angles. Accordingly, mostly agricultural engineering fields in Turkey is working with this data. Then comes the forest engineers. It can be said that geography, which is the spatial science, is left behind in this point. Relevant theses and published articles emphasize the inadequacies of various aspects of scientific research for CORINE data. The most common deficiencies identified with CORINE are resolution, classification area, naming and accuracy analysis
