An Application of Green Transportation in Campus: A Decision-Making Process for Selection of Ring Vehicles

Environmental sustainability is an important concept for universities as well as for all institutions. At the same time, the environmental awareness is increasing day by day and becoming critical. It is obviously going to give big consequences with the practicable small activities in terms of environmental sustainability. In this study, green transportation was handled and it was proposed to used environmentally friendly vehicles in the campus transportation, and the most appropriate tramway vehicle were selected among the three alternative-fuel vehicles with various features by using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and TOPSIS methods. As a result, evaluations were made for the K？r？kkale University Campus by choosing the most environmentally friendly ring vehicles. It was used engine characteristics (fuel supply, climbing capacity, engine power), vehicle features (capacity, comfort, charge / service time), aesthetic appearance, energy efficiency, mobility, barrier-free transportation, cost and environment criteria in the evaluation
