TEACHERS' OPINIONS ON THE RENEWED SOCIAL STUDIES CURRICULUMKeywords: 2017 Sosyal Bilgiler Program?,Sosyal Bilgiler ??retmeni Abstract: Teachers who are practitioners of the program have a major role in effectively achieving the goals outlined in the social studies curriculum. Therefore, it is important that the problems faced by the teachers are based on findings. This research reveals the views of social studies teachers related to the renewed Social Studies curriculum; to make evaluations about the program, to reveal the appearance of the program in practice and to contribute to the development of the program. The research used case study from qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 110 Social Studies Teachers who are working in the province of Sivas based on volunteerism determined by appropriate sampling method in 2017-2018 academic year. A structured interview form consisting of 8 questions and developed by researchers was used as a data collection tool. Preliminary interviews were conducted with 3 social studies teachers who were excluded from the sample, and the understanding of the questions was measured. In the analysis of the obtained data was used inductive analysis from the types of content analysis. A reliability of 94 % was achieved in the reliability study.As a result; more than half of the teachers stated who had received in-service training were not enough; these trainings should be given practically by academicians in a classroom with a group training attended by few. Teachers stated that they had difficulties in implementing the new program, especially due to inadequate number of teaching hours; the curriculum is not suitable for the student's level, the curriculum is intensive, the textbooks are not sufficient, the curriculum is applied suddenly. There are Atatürkism topics at the beginning of the issues that are lacking. Teachers stated that the number of subjects and the number of teaching hours should be increased
