Some Morphological Properties and Antibacterial Performance of Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) Mushroom Grown in Glass JarKeywords: Shiitake (Lentinula edodes),Antibakteriyel,Mikrodilüsyon,Gürgen tala?? Abstract: The objective of this study was to determine some morphological characters and antibacterial performance of Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) mushroom grown in the growing medium prepared from a mixture of hornbeam sawdust and wheat bran in the glass jar. In our work, mushroom production was carried out in the growing media prepared in glass jars. Antibacterial activities of the extract prepared in DMSO (10%) from the obtained mushrooms on Enterococcus faecalis (ATCC 29212), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853), Bacillus subtilis (ATCC 6633), Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus were investigated using spectrophotometric broth microdilution method. Accordingly, the highest activity was found P. aeruginosa (7.86 mg/ml) while the lowest activity was on B. subtilis (71.28 g/ml). As a result, it was determined that Shiitake mushroom grown in glass jar has morphologically close features to mushroom types grown by other methods and has antimicrobial activity against pathogenic bacteria
