An Analysis on the Management Concept of Confucius

Confucius, who developed a unique philosophy for life, is regarded as one of the main elements of the Chinese culture, which is one of the most ancient and richest cultures in the world. His main aim was finding solution for the social and political turmoil of his time. Thanks to this feature, Confucius philosophy is one of the influential philosophy schools in China. This work researches Confucius management concept through Lúnyǔ, which is one of the classic works of Confucius school and where the thought structure of Confucius can be seen obviously. This research presents Confucius's philosophy on state management over five principles, which are respecting rules, being virtuous and dissolute, being a role model child, well behaving in any duty or position and being righteous. These principles are in close interaction with each other. Confucius believed that a state management system that would work within the framework of these principles could establish the ancient order again. Accordingly, respecting rules would ensure continuity of traditions; morality would guide state management; well behaving in any duty or position would define duties and responsibilities of rulers; rulers loyal to the principle of respecting parents would, in their turn, get respect from people and the principle of righteousness would guarantee security and obedience of people
