Structural Status of Paddy Agriculture in Diyarbak？r Region

In this study, the results of survey were evaluated in order to determine agricultural activities of the farmers from production to harvest and farmer’s perspectives about organic agriculture in Diyarbakir provinces and districts. In this purpose, questionnaire was administered to 24 farmers randomly selected from 234 farmers farming rice in 2009. The questions such as production patterns, production quantity, use of chemicals product using and marketing, problems and farmer’s perspectives on organic agriculture were asked and the assessment was made according to the answers. In accordance with the answers given to the questionnaire, it was reported that 85.7% of farmers were keen on organic agriculture. 79.2% of farmers expressed that they cultivate rice on no-tilled, 75% stony, 87.5% sloping field and use 93.8% the variety of Karacadag
