John Calvin’s Understanding of Revelation and Scripture

This paper studies John Calvin's understanding of revelation, which has had a great impact on the shaping of the Prostestant thought. What he defines as revelation is studied in the context of his ideas about the Holy Bible. Revelation as a means of knowledge, a topic which particularly constitutes importance for Calvin, is emphasized. Calvin's understanding of revelation is evaluated and its place in the context of today's understanding of revelation will be tried to be determined
