HOUSE SELECTION USING AHP-BASED GREY RELATIONAL ANALYSIS METHOD

Since its inception, Humanity has built houses of different shapes and characteristics. In addition to meeting the housing needs, houses are also considered as a status, social acceptance, and investment tool. Therefore, house purchasing has become one of the most important common living and investment goals for individuals and families. In this study, the issue of house purchasing, which is one of the most difficult and irreparable decisions in human life, is discussed. The choice of the house to buy is a multi-criteria decision problem because of the multiple alternatives and criteria. At the first stage, the criteria used to determine the most suitable house alternative was determined by taking the literature survey and expert opinions. Analytical Hierarchy Process was used for weighting of the criteria and Gray Relational Analysis method was used for ordering house alternatives. The ordering process was carried out separately for two cases where the criteria had equal and different weights. As a result, considering the decision maker priorities in decision problems, it was determined that giving different weight values to the criteria produced more realistic solutions
