INVESTIGATION OF THE PREDICTIVE ROLE OF ATTACHMENT STYLES, COGNITIVE DISTORTIONS ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS, INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIP STYLES AND PERSONALITY TRAITS ON MARITAL ADJUSTMENTKeywords: Evlilik uyumu,ba?lanma stilleri,ili?kilere ili?kin bili?sel ?arp?tmalar,ki?ileraras? tarz Abstract: In this research the aim was to investigate the prediction levels of attachment styles, cognitive distortions about relationships, interpersonal relationship styles and personality traits for marital adjustment. The study group for the research comprised 423 married individuals (female=220, male=203) living in Trabzon. A personal information form, marital adjustment scale, experiences in close relationships inventory, interpersonal cognitive distortions scale, interpersonal style scale and Eysenck personality questionnaire were used to collect data. The Spearman correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis techniques were used for data analysis. The results of the research found that there were significant correlations between marital adjustment and the personality trait of neuroticism, the attachment dimensions of avoidance and anxiety, the interpersonal relationship style sub-dimensions of anger and dismissive contemptuous and the interpersonal cognitive distortion sub-dimension of avoiding intimacy. Multiple regression analysis results showed the personality trait of neuroticism and attachment style of avoidance and whether divorce was considered or not predicted marital adjustment. However, extraversion, psychosis, anxiety, interpersonal relationship styles, cognitive distortions about relationships and having children or not did not predict marital adjustment
