Evaluation of Animal Protection Law in terms of Zoological and Ethical Principles

In this study, 33 articles of the Law on Animal Protection, has been evaluated within the framework of the principles of zoology and ethics. It is determined that the prescience of animals both infertility and living in prosperity is contradictory. The infertility animals, not to be able to survive in the welfare have been demonstrated with shown scientific studies. It has been noted that among the members elected to the Council for the Protection of Animals in the provinces, expert zoologists should be selected in terms of merit, competence and ethical principles. It has been demonstrated that animals cannot have unlimited proliferation capabilities and people will not harm their welfare level because of that their populations in urban life will increase without limitation. In this context, it was emphasized that the thesis of preventing uncontrolled reproduction in the law was not healthy. It is stated that it is necessary to take into consideration the opinions of the voluntary organizations in preparing the laws and that the joint decisions taken in the committees composed of experts will be considered as a law to be more valid and reliable
