Abstract:

There have been several innovations in the Turkish educational environment with the introduction of 4+4+4 educational system. Undoubtedly, elective courses are among such innovations. Mind Games as an elective course is already in the course schedules. There are usually inevitable problems about every new system. The aim of the study is to find out what kind of problems the teachers who teach mind games lessons experience. The data in the study were collected through interviews and observations, which are among the qualitative data collection methods. An interview and observation form which contained open-ended questions about previously determined topics were prepared in order to examine the subject extensively. 6 teachers who taught Mind Games courses at schools in Eyyübiye, Haliliye and Karak?prü, which are the central districts of the province of ?anlurfa, were interviewed. Moreover, 3 lessons by two different permanent teachers were observed in accordance with the aim of the study. As the result of the study, it has been found out that Mind Games lessons are not taught efficiently due to the insufficiency of physical conditions, materials, lesson durations and resources
