THE FINANCING AND REIMBURSEMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES: CURRENT SITUATION IN TURKEY

This study is carried out to investigate the financing and reimbursement methods of health services in terms of theory, and to research what the financing and reimbursement methods being implemented in Turkey are. The study is a descriptive study. As a result of the study, it has been determined that a combination of the multiple financing system and the reimbursement methods are used together in Turkey.. It is seen that although the social health insurance model is mainly used in the financing system, the health system is also financed from taxation, people are paying out of pocket, the weight of private health insurance has increased more and more and the public-private partnerships have been utilized in the construction of health facilities. Pay-per-service, per-case, per-person, and salary methods are all applied together in the reimbursement of health services
