The Pottery of Gijduvon And Rishton

Uzbekistan is well-known with its ceramic making as one of the hand craft arts. Since ancient times, Uzbekistan's ceramic craft has been transferred from generation to generation, has continued to develop with regional differences. By carrying the stylistic features of the centers where rich and varied Uzbekistan ceramics are produced, each region has kept alive its own production traditions thanks to the local ceramic schools whose roots are very ancient. Gijduvon and Ri？tan regions that still continue to produce traditionally today, are known as the most important pottery centers of Uzbekistan. These centers gain privilege in terms of diversification of Uzbekistan ceramics due to different way of production. Gijduvon is a small town near to the Buhara also knows as an important craft center along the Silk Road and Rishton is located in Fergana Valey, they both continue their tradational pottery production. The importance of Gijduvan and Rishton centers in the development and continuation of traditional pottery production with general approaches to Uzbek pottery forms has been emphasized in this text. In addition to the fact that they are one of the important ceramic centers that make production of these centers worth examining and continue their existence to the present day, they also reveal the variety of ceramic forms developed in accordance with the Uzbek eating-drinking culture. In this research, which is structured with qualitative research design, from qualitative data collection techniques; semi-structured participant observation, camera recordings, audio recordings, written and printed papers and images, field notes, observer logs were used. The present findings were interpreted in the light of the literature while the results were evaluated and the differences between Gijduvan and Rishton pottery were revealed
