However, the process of intensive examining of this issue in different aspects goes to the end of the 1970’s. The women who are born in the in the early years of the Republic and receive education by taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the new system begin to move into the literary world. Therefore, the woman issue in Turkey occurs in the work of arts and is studied in different aspects. Examining women who are cast away as second sex and their problems, authors discuss women's individualization process rather than displaying them merely as a wife or mother. In this context, in Cemo, examined in this article, the woman issue is not directly handled but it is indirectly pointed out with other social problems of the period. Sheikh Said rebellions and the subsequent Dersim Events take place in the background of the novel one thing that is pointed out in the novel is that reforms and changes brought by the Republic did not reach every region of Anatolia and the other thing that is emphasized is the social problems coming with that fact.Especially, it can be criticized as to how the landlordism-slavery system in that period neglected the woman's attempt to exist in the patriarchal society
