Football Fans: The Case of University Students

As the concept of sports approaches to today, it has gained different missions and brought with it different elements. One of these elements, the phenomenon of fans, has begun to take an indispensable image for football. The aim of this study is to examine the fanaticism of football fans in terms of university students. For this purpose, a total of 210 students, 125 male and 85 female, were included in the study. As data collection tool; Mek Football Fan Fanaticity Scale geli？tiril developed by Ta？mektepligil, ？ankaya and Tun？ (2015) and “Personal Information Form taraf？ndan created by the researcher were used. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistical methods, t-test and one way ANOVA. In the study, a significant difference was found between male and female students in terms of football fanaticism. In addition, it was concluded that the fact that the supporter team was different created meaningfulness among the groups
