Investigation of Earthquake Joint Pavement in Reinforced Concrete BuildingsKeywords: Deprem,Derz,Betonarme Bina,Biti?ik nizam yap?lar Abstract: Human being needs new living space because of increasing human population in our Country and also World. There are a lot of attached buildings, Especially, in big cities having huge population because of land shortage. But, if buildings are constructed very closely each other, this cause many hazardous effects. In this study, the damage effect of the attached buildings is examined because of the lack of construction joint under ground motion effects. We present the effect of the distance between the attached buildings because avoid from hammering and pounding effects considering structural deformations. Numerical linear analyses are carried out for two reinforced concrete (RC) buildings with four and six storeys by SAP2000 program. In the scope of this study, we used 1999 Izmit earthquake accelerograms. The horizontal deformations are obtained considering construction joint between two buildings under earthquake. According to this study, the size of construction joint is tried to determine considering Specification for Buildings to be Built in Seismic Zones \cite{TDY2007} with obtained deformations
