THE ELIMINATION OF HARMONICS IN SOLAR ENERGY SYSTEMS

Abstract:

In this study, we discuss the elimination of the harmonics on the loads that are fed by solar energy, which is the source of renewable energy. Solar energy is a renewable energy source. Since the resulting energy is DC voltage, it is necessary to convert this energy into AC voltage accordingly. Especially alternative current loads should be fed properly. Difficult electronic arrangements such as rectifiers and inverters cause harmonics. Otherwise, non-linear loads cause corruption. For this reason, harmonics need to be examined before the energy generated from solar panels is transferred to the system. Classification of harmonics, determination of species and methods of elimination are discussed here. Since the system works completely independent of the network, filters and loads designed to solve harmonic problems are important. These filters should be developed correctly and should not bring an extra burden to the system. All different filters designed for the work done in MATLAB / Simulink environment have been tried and the results have been compared. The results shed light on the question of which type of filter to use
