An Investigation into Secondary School Students’ Opinions about the Utilization of Information TechnologyKeywords: bili?im teknolojileri, bilgisayar ve internet kullan?m?,bili?im teknolojilerinden yararlanma Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine the level of secondary school students’ utilization of information technology in terms of various variables. In order to describe an existing situation in the study as it was, screening model was used, and among the methods included in this model general screening model was employed. The study group of the study comprised a total of 250 secondary school students attending different schools in the city centre of Ni?de in the academic year of 2017-2018. The study group was determined through non-random (purposeful) convenience sampling method. “The Utilization of Information and Communication Technologies Scale” developed by ?zmusul (2011) was used as data collection tool in the study. The Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient for the scale was found to be .91. Since the data showed normal distribution, the parametric tests, independent samples t-test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), were used. As a result of the study, it was concluded that the level of students’ information technology use was high. In the analysis done for the independent variables, it was determined that while the level of the students’ utilization of information technology did not differ significantly based on their gender and class levels, it did according to the availability of a computer and internet connection. However, based on the frequency of the internet use, a difference was revealed between the students who frequently used the internet and those who rarely used it, in favour of the ones who used the internet frequently
