Abstract:

Having political, economic and social reasons, Islamophobia has become greatly widespread after the 11th of September incidents. Having replaced antisemitism in time, Islamophobia causes exclusion, prejudice, violence and hatred against Muslims. In this context, the most important reason for presenting Islamophobia to influence people is effective implementation of perception management by experts. Perception management, used here for Islamophobia to become widespread indicates the determined time frame, to be planned in the context of target audience, tools and equipment to be used and result, just like a marketing plan. This study explains the definition, history and reasons of the term Islamophobia and peception management first. The study then examines the influence of Islamophobia on individuals through perception management
