A PERSPECTIVE OF CONSERVATION THOUGHT TO CIVILIZATION: A STUDY ON NECIP FAZIL KISAKUREK

This study includes understanding the perception of civilization in Turkish conservative discourse and evaluating the critical position of civilization on the figure of Necip Faz？l K？sakürek. In this study, the effects of the modernization process, which started in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, on the conservative thought style in the course of the Republic are examined. The structure of civilization, which is one of the milestones of conservatism and which is dragged into the crisis in the face of different political mechanisms in the process, has been discussed with reference to the ideas of Necip Faz？l K？sakürek. Questions such as what does civilization discourse mean for Turkish conservatism in general, how does conservative thought in the Turkish political tradition serve the perception of civilization and why; how does Necip Faz？l K？sakürek's figure become a critical reference in this perception of civilization has been tried to be answered. After handling the origins of conservative thought both in the West and in Turkey through a theoretical perspective, the works of Necip Faz？l K？sakürek, who made numerous contributions to the discourse of civilization, have been analysed by content analysis method. It has been tried to reveal with the reference to today's politics how the conservative thought, which became prominent as a culturing movement and which later became one of the important references of Turkish political life, especially the right political tradition, positioned the civilization
