ANDALUSIAN GHAZ？L AND HIS POETRIES

In Arabic literature, verse and prose works of Andalusia constitute an important sum. There were grew many important poets and prose writers. Especially, during the emirate of Andalusia, many valuable people emerged in the field of science and literature. Yahya b. al-Hakam known as Ghazal was also one of the poet of this time who is regarded by some poetry critics as the greatest poet of all times in Andalusia. As a matter of fact, poems in his compiled divan are an indication that he is a poet who brings innovations to Arabic and Andalusian poetry. In addition to being a great poet, Ghazal is also known for his identity as a diplomat who successfully fulfills his mission as an ambassador. In our study, the political and literary life of this important poet is given. His literary personality, physical and moral characteristics are emphasized. His poems were examined and his divan was tried to be introduced. In addition, these poems are subject to a classification in terms of content and they are given under the titles such as lyrics, satires, eulogies, boasting poems, asceticism poems, gnomic poems and wine poems. Finally, the poems which are mentioned in this study have been tried to be evaluated in terms of style
