Quantitative analysis of gunshot residue deposited in the gun barrel depending on number of shots by atomic absorption spectrometryKeywords: Adli Bilimler,Kantitatif Analiz,At?? Art?klar?,GFAAS Abstract: Identifying the shooter suspects and determining the number of shots is an important clue in the elucidation of the nature of the incident (suicide, murder, accident). Therefore, analysis of gunshot residue has become a requirement for the forensic sciences. This study quantitatively analyzes the gunshot residues collected from a gun barrel using different types of ammunition. The samples were collected by shaking the gun barrel after the shot in a bath and elemental analysis was carried out using the Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (GFAAS) method. Quantitative analysis was carried out using Sars?lmaz Mega 2000 K?l?n? brand gun and 9 mm Parabellum type Libra, Winchester, Fiocchi brand ammunition by the GFAAS method to analyze the amounts of antimony, barium and lead elements deposited in the gun barrel depending on the number of shots fired. According to the ammunition types, a quantitative analysis of the gunshot residues remaining in the barrel after the shots was made, and a method was proposed to determine the number of shots depending on the types of ammunition
