The Investigation of the Sensitivity to the Teaching Profession and the Effective Teaching Specialties of Pre-Service Teachers Studying at Education Faculty and Attending Pedagogical Formation Certificate ProgramKeywords: ??retmenlik mesle?i,etkili ??retmen ?zellikleri,mesleki duyarl?l?k Abstract: The aim of this study is to determine the sensitivity to the teaching profession and the effective teaching specialties of pre-service teachers who are either studying in the last year in the Faculty of Education or attending the Pedagogical Formation certificate program at Mersin University. In the study, among quantitative research methods, survey method was used. The research sample, which was determined by the method of convenience sampling, consists of 495 pre-service teachers, 345 of whom were female and 150 of whom were male. After the data was collected, some statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 20 and LISREL 8.71. According to the results, it was determined that pre-service teachers of both Education Faculty and Pedagogical Formation certificate program not only are quite sensitive to the teaching profession but also have highly effective teacher specialties. Also, the only statistically significant difference was observed between some of the departments of the pre-service teachers. No significant relationship was found in the sensitivity to the teaching profession and the effective teaching specialties of pre-service teachers in terms of the gender, high school, education levels of mothers and fathers and the order of preference of the teaching profession. The results also showed that there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the sensitivity to the teaching profession and the effective teaching specialties of pre-service teachers (r = 0,431, p<0,01)
