Turkish Education System from Past to Present Based on Students’ Opinion

The aim of this study is to reveal effects of social and political conditions on Turkish Education System based on education faculty students’ opinions in historical perspective. The study was designed with the qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 139 students studying at Bayburt Educational Faculty the department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance. To reveal students’ opinion, the interview form, developed by the researcher was used as data collection tool. Descriptive analysis technique was used in the analysis of the qualitative data that was obtained from the interview forms. When the historical development of education is taken into consideration, it has emerged that the students believe that the social and political conditions affect the education system. The students regard the education system itself, politics and changes as the source of the problems of today's education system
