The Effect of Seedling Types on Morphological Characters in Turkish Red Pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) Seedlings

In this study, the effects of Turkish Red Pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) seedling types (bare-rooted, containerized and enso type seedlings) from ？ameli-G？lda？ origin on shoot height, root collar diameter, the longest root length, leaf length, root number were investigated. In addition, seedling quality evaluation was carried out in terms of the shoot height and root collar diameter according to TS 2265/February 1988. Mean shoot height, root collar diameter and leaf length was found high in containerized seedlings. The average number of root and the longest root length were high in enso type and bare-rooted seedlings, respectively. According to standards of TSI February 1988; 65% of the containerized seedlings were found to be in the first class in terms of shoot height whereas 75% of the bare-rooted and enso type seedlings were found to be unsuitable seedlings. In terms of root collar diameter, it has been determined that all the seedlings are in the unsuitable class
