History of Lithuania Karaims and the Analysis of the Interior of Karaim Kenesa in Trakai in the Context of Kenesas

Khazar Turks, who had been converted to judaism as a result of missionary campaigns by the Byzantion Karais, spread through the middle Europe territories or remained in the Crimea peninsula after the collapse of Khazar Empire. Karais resident today in Lithuania, Poland and Crimea are thought to be the successor of Khazars. Even though this society seen as a part of jewish history, their huge effort to differ themselves from jewish society and to accentuate their turkish identity can be seen in the symbolic content of the temple. The struggle to differentiation from judaism lead to rejection of symbols can be clearly seen on the building of kenesa which is later decorated with the symbols belong to turkish identit
