ROLE OF SCHOOLS WITH IDENTITY AND CHARACTERSKeywords: Karakter,Sosyal ?evre,Okul,Toplumsalla?ma,Din Abstract: People develop attitudes and behaviors as they grow up. In sociological terms, however, the formation of personality is only possible through the societal life. The process of socialization includes tangible and intangible cultural elements. Through tangible culture, an individual also acquires religious beliefs, values, norms, emotions, thinking, and behaviors that all shape a society socio-culturally. That way, while socializing religiously, they also adapt to the culture of the society. This study, therefore, explores the the effects of schools, which have an important place in the process of socialization, on religious socialization and character formation. Religious socialization is a process in which people start to develop religious preferences. It depends on human communication with others. The place where this communication is conducted formally is schools. This compilation study also deals with schools-the relations with teachers and friends-that have important functions in raising individuals of good character and in the socialization of individuals. It is so because schools not only have educational, cultural, and societal effects in character education of a child, but are also functional in equipping individuals with moral values. Moral values, in return, are considered to raise individual and societal consciousness
