The New Regionalism Approach at Regional Development: A Case Study of Sinop Province

Modern development theories have not shown successful results over time. This situation has led Turkey's orientation towards new approaches. Nowadays, these approaches are turn to local based bottom-up regional development from top-down centralist development within the framework of regional development. In this process, which is called new regionalism approach, it is aimed to ensure socio-economic development by featuring the divers of locality. In this study, this transformation were analyzed by Turkey’s development process in example of Sinop province
