Local Politics And Urban Media: Presentation Of Political News In The Urban Newspapers In The Process Of 24 June 2018 General Election

Urban newspapers are the broadcasting organs that convey the developments in the social, cultural, economic and political fields related to the city to their readers. Political news comes at the beginning of the news types that urban newspapers have published. It is in the effort of informing its target audience / readers about the developments in local politics in the media. Urban newspapers, especially in the election period, political developments, political parties, political actors' activities, evaluations and explanations to make it as a news text to the readers. The actors of local politics also reach their voters, and the aims of the urban media provide information and news to their readers and provide a communication and interaction between politics and urban media. This interaction undoubtedly affects the presentation of political news in urban media. This study examines the presentation of the political news published in the four local newspapers published in Elaz？？ during the June 24th general elections. Within the scope of the study, the publications of F？rat, Gün？？？？？, Haberkent and Hakimiyet newspapers published in Elaz？？ daily during the June 24th general election process were evaluated with content analysis method. According to the findings of the research, urban newspapers of Elaz？？ carry out their publications in the political election processes in the context of the political tendencies of political parties in the city and the political tendencies of their readers, as well as the factors related to them such as their own publication policies and ideologies; the content and scope of their publications are determined according to these parameters
