The Comparison of Trainings and Skills of Big Data Experts in Germany and Turkey: Linked-in Data Mining Application

Big data technologies are a recent emerging research field that is spreading worldwide; so, demand for qualified specialists is also increasing accordingly. In this context, appropriate training for potential candidates is becoming even more critical to meet the criteria for government and market requirements. The candidates acquire various skills from the various training platforms including postgraduate courses, online trainings, training seminars. Therefore, content of training program must be properly aligned with sector needs to be able to supply qualified specialists. In this study, Germany and Turkey were discussed. The training information and skills of the individuals working as big data experts in both countries were obtained from LinkedIn profiles by using data mining techniques and statistical analyzes were made. And the skills and training of experts between the two countries were compared. The expected skills of the experts working in the field of big data were determined. It has contributed to the process of specialization of individuals who want to work in the field of big data and it is thought that it will guide to similar studies
