Prevalence of Lungworm in Lungs with Macroscopically Verminous Pneumonia and in Sheep with Respiratory SyndromeKeywords: Akci?er k?lkurtlar?,Koyun,Van Abstract: This study was conducted to determine the prevalence of lungworm in lungs with macroscopically verminous pneumonia and in sheep with respiratory syndrome in Van province.For this purpose, 120 sheep lungs and 120 sheep feces were examined. Prevalence of lungworm infection was 85% ve 62.5% by coproscopy and necropsy, respectively. C. ocreatus, D. filaria, P. rufescenswere found in %80.39; %64, %31.37; %32 and %18.62; %54 of lungs and faeces of the infected animals with lungworm, respectively. M. capillariswas not found in the lung examination but was found in 16% by the fecal examination. It was observed that 71,6%; 41.3% of lung and fecal samples were infected with one species while 26,5%; 50.7% with two species and 2%; 8% with three species, respectively. Individual parasite burdens of sheep infected withC. ocreatus, D.filariaand P. rufescenswas recorded as 1-18 (mean 6.23), 1-30 (mean 5.13) and 1-23 (mean 4.95), respectively
