Is Siirt Province In The Position That Deserves According To Its Population?

From the history of mankind, the states have applied the population policies according to the conditions of the period and demographic structures. These policies which help to make decisions for the future, are used in a wide range of areas from health services to cultural structures, from social structures to administrative areas from military planning to economic programs and from developmental indices to population projections and immigration. In this respect, it is important that correct analysis of population information from past to present is required to achieve the desired level of success in the plans and programs. In the first part of the study, the history, and the physical and demographic changes that took place after 1990 of Siirt province will be examined. In the second part, the importance of population, population theories and population policies applied in Turkey will be discussed. In the third part of the study, it was emphasized what is the required population of Siirt province according to the average of Turkey and the impact of migration on population were studied by using a variety of variables
