THE PROBLEMS OF S？？RT PROVINCE IN THE PERIOD OF 1960-1980

In this study, the problems that Siirt province faced during the 1960-1980 period were examined. The problems in transportation and healthcare systems negatively affected the life in Siirt. Even in the summer months, the access to ？？rnak district from the Siirt city center could only be possible by off-road vehicles. Regarding the healthcare issue, the deaths of children in Siirt province due to the doctor shortage showed that an urgent solution to the healthcare system was needed. Moreover, the political polarization that started to climb rapidly throughout the country in the 1970s also affected Siirt. The political violence that took place in Siirt were also brought to the agenda of the Turkish parliament
