Alteration of Classical Period And Its Aftermath on Dala’il al-Khayrat Miniatures in Ottoman StateKeywords: Delailü’l-Hayrat,Cez?l?,minyatür,kutsal kent tasvirleri,Mekke-Medine Abstract: The book named Dala’il al-Khayrat was written by Muhammed b. Suleyman al-Jazuli (d. 1465) in North Africa and it has become one of the mostly-read prayer books in the community and has been approved by all of the Islamic Countries since the day it was first published. It is still one of the mostly-read prayer books in the community. The reason why this book, which gathers the salat ü selam prayers, is still so popular is undoubtedly the deep attachment of all the Muslims towards Prophet Muhammed (s.a.v.) Graced with the miniatures of the Islamic Art Culture, the work was reproduced many times and hence these miniatures are known to vary depending on the geographies and the centuries. Despite the fact that the miniatures inside the manuscripts of Dala’il al-Khayrat in Turkish libraries are similar to the ones in other Islamic Countries in terms of subject, they still bear special properties in themselves. However, these miniatures located in Ottoman were exposed to modification and they were especially influenced by the Western Culture. Therefore, studying how these miniatures changed in time also means being able to discover the backdrop of a civilization. The city images of Mecca and Medina that appeared in Dala’il al-Khayrat manuscripts which was only reproduced at the Ottoman period have also importance in point of being historical documents
