The Investigation of Political and Cultural Representations of CHP's Logo the Six Arrows in Context of Democratic Criticisms of the Economy and the Culture Politics of Kemalism

Culture has an indisputable place in the establishment of politics. Thus, political party logos which has an important place in mass communication, feed on cultural symbols and contain promises about the future by emphasizing habits in social memory. In Turkey, Six Arrows logo of Republican People's Party and the values it represents, are tried to be explained per changing political agenda by civil society. In the name of democratization, the diversified approaches within the scope of the logo support the continuity of economic and cultural debates within the scope of Kemalism and lead to a democracy dilemma rather than democratisation of politics. The historical origins and the reasons of criticisms towards Kemalism as ethnic nationalist in terms of cultural, as corporatist in terms of economy policies and the explanations brought to the logo by the civil society will be examined in context of political and cultural representations of the logo to bring a satisfactory research and clarification within the context of the logo. The logo will be evaluated in terms formality, relations, integrity its cultural ties and messages. The answers will be sought to the criticisms, which are towards economy and culture policies of Kemalism in context of democracy
