The Restoration of Tire Yal?nayak Bath and New Findings Concerning the BuildingKeywords: Tire,Yal?nayak,Hamam,Restorasyon,Ar?nma Havuzu Abstract: As being one of the most attractive settlements of West Anatolia since was antiquity, Tire is a kind of museum-town with its monumental architecture samples and well preserved urban fabric belonging to the period of Ayd?no?ullar? Emirate and Ottoman Empire. After being the capital of Ayd?no?ullar? Emirate for some time, the city also kept its importance in the early Ottoman Period. In the town, there are many extant monumental structures such as mosques, inns, baths, madrasas and tombs belonging to those periods. Yal?nayak Bath is one of the most magnificent baths that survive until today. Especially the section for men attracts the attention with its eight iwan temperature. The restoration implementation of the building was made between 2015 and 2017 in accordance with the approved building survey and projects of restitution and restoration. During the restoration implementation, new findings such as the pool (mikveh) situated in the section of men, and the inlet opening between dressing rooms of men and women have pointed out that bath could have been used by Jewish community of Tire. Besides, the location of the building in the town supports this idea. The restoration was done with an approach aiming to preserve all unique factors of the building. As a result of the parget dreadlocks and on the ground surface of the section of women which is more damaged compared to the section of men, traces of a fountain pool in the dressing room and the inlet opening of a toliet that does not exist today, were encountered. In accordance with the approved restoration project, the house adjacent to the north facade of the bath was removed and the foundations of five stores were revelaed.
